The Northwoods Youth Apprenticeship Consortium recently held a YA Coordinator meeting. The agenda included guest presentations from the Wisconsin DWD - Equal Rights Division, Wisconsin Virtual School, and Wisconsin Laborers' Apprenticeship and Training Fund.  It was a great day of learning for our team, which will continue to help support our growing number of YA students. #YouthApprenticeshipWeek

In honor of National Youth Apprenticeship Week, we have some fun facts for you: ● In our Northwoods YA Consortium, the highest participation is in the Manufacturing career pathway - with 23 apprentices. The average pay for those students is $15.01! ● The highest paying pathway is Health Science, with eight students averaging $17.94 per hour! ● There are 79 different career pathways in 13 areas. CESA 8 Teacher Retention & Induction DPI Project participants recently completed their final training session.  Our CESA team is so proud of this group of new special education teachers as they continue to support and positively impact students in our region.  They engaged in six face-to-face training sessions and six networking sessions and received six on-site coaching sessions. Twenty-three teachers completed the project from the following school districts: Beecher-Dunbar-Pembine, Bonduel, Crandon, CESA 8, Gillett, Gresham, Niagara, Oconto, Peshtigo, Shawano, Suring, Wabeno, Wausaukee, White Lake, and Wittenberg-Birnamwood.  Congratulations to our outstanding special educators!
