CESA 8 has launched a regional student design challenge, inviting learners to reimagine the CESA 8 logo as a fabricated physical artifact using tools and technologies available in school-based Fab Labs or Technical Education Centers.
This is an opportunity for students to create a lasting representation of CESA 8’s mission through modern design and manufacturing.
Students may design and fabricate an artifact such as a metal or acrylic art piece, 3D-printed model, CNC-milled or laser-cut design, wood construction, or mixed-media project that reflects both the CESA 8 brand and the innovative spirit of today’s learning environments.
The challenge is designed to showcase student creativity while strengthening real-world skills in:
Design thinking and problem-solving
Engineering and technical practices
Prototyping, finishing, and presentation
By working within the capabilities of their school’s Fab Labs and Technical Education Centers, students will experience industry-relevant workflows from ideation through final production.
The contest is open to participating schools across the CESA 8 region and encourages interdisciplinary collaboration among students in STEM, art, career and technical education (CTE), and computer science programs. A minimum of five (5) entries from five (5) different schools must be submitted in order for the logo challenge to take place.
Design Requirements
The final artifact must be at least 24 x 24 inches.
Each submission must incorporate the original CESA 8 logo

Any of the three logo versions may be used
Timeline & Judging
Submission deadline: May 15, 2026
Entries will be evaluated through a CESA 8 staff vote
Judging criteria include:
Creativity and originality
Craftsmanship and quality
Effective use of school resources and fabrication processes
Alignment with CESA 8’s mission and visual identity
Awards & Recognition
Cash prizes will be awarded to schools for the top three student creations:
1st Place: $600
2nd Place: $300
3rd Place: $100
Winning designs may be displayed at CESA 8 facilities, regional events, or partner locations, providing public recognition for students and schools while highlighting CESA 8’s commitment to innovation, workforce readiness, and student-centered learning.
