CESA 8 is proud to announce that Kurt Krizan, Shawano School District Superintendent, was recently honored with an Amplify Award from the Wisconsin School Public Relations Association (WSPRA).
The Amplify Award recognizes individuals who go above and beyond in their districts to amplify the efforts of school public relations and communications. The program is designed not only to celebrate individual achievements but also to highlight the importance of effective school communication and WSPRA’s mission: to enhance the capacity of its members to strengthen educational opportunities for all students through effective communication management.
Krizan was nominated by CESA 8 Director of Communications Dean Leisgang, who worked closely with him on communications initiatives for Shawano’s successful November 2024 capital referendum. Together, they developed and executed a strategic video series to inform and engage the community, ensuring stakeholders had the facts they needed to make an informed decision at the polls.
“Kurt’s leadership and commitment to transparency were key to building trust with the Shawano community,” Leisgang said. “His support of clear, consistent communication helped shape a positive outcome for students and families. This award is well deserved.”
Krizan’s recognition highlights the essential role strong school communication plays in advancing educational goals and fostering community partnerships. His work in Shawano stands as an example of how effective collaboration can amplify district voices and support student success.
