(Suring, Wisconsin) The Suring School District is excited to announce the hiring of Robert Caelwaerts as its next Superintendent. Caelwaerts currently works in the Wrightstown School District as the Wrightstown Middle School principal. His leadership journey in Wrightstown also included Assistant Principal and Activities Director positions.

“We were fortunate to have a candidate with local ties and Robert's administrative experience," said David Lally/School Board President. "Caelwaerts is the right person to provide consistency for the Suring School District now and into the future.”

Raised on a small dairy farm in Oconto, Wisconsin, Caelwaerts attended UW-Platteville, earning a degree in Physical Education. He began his career in the Crivitz School District, teaching Physical Education and Health while coaching multiple sports. He later joined the Marinette School District, teaching Physical Education and Adaptive Physical Education while earning a Master’s in Educational Leadership from UW-Oshkosh. During this time, he obtained his Superintendent licensure from Concordia University.

“I look forward to collaborating with students, staff, and the community to foster a culture of excellence and opportunity for all,” said Caelwaerts. “Suring has a strong tradition of academic excellence and creating opportunities for students, and I am eager to contribute to its continued success.”

Caelwaerts will replace Laurie Asher, the district’s interim superintendent. He will begin his new position with the Suring School District on July 1, 2025.
