Teacher Notes

In creating this WebQuest certain assumptions were made:

Students will have basic knowledge of the feudal system, specifically the social classes.

Students will be familiar with multi-media technology including basic word processing skills.

Students will have experience with the writing process (notes, rough draft, editing, revision, and final draft)

Students will have an understanding of the layout of a brochure.

The following activities could be done to extend this WebQuest into the regular classroom, school, or community:

Students will come to consensus on class model and create a life-like manor in the classroom or other open area. Students may choose a role to play from a social class (serf, noble, knight, etc.) or a person living during that time (King Arthur, King John, etc.) Students will then be in the appropriate attire including the appropriate props. The community and parents could then be invited to visit.

Students could pick some aspect of medieval life (wedding ceremony, dance, feast, jousting exercise, etc.) to recreate in the classroom.

When evaluating the model, brochure, and presentation on the rubric, the "four roles" refer to the responsibilities outlined in the task specifically including the four social classes.
