Introduction
The park rangers at the Seregeti National Park have too many animals in the park. It seems that after a large storm many animals became lost. As a visiting ranger your job will be to identify and return the lost animals to their home habitat. Africa is the largest continent in the world. There are many different animals and habitats within its borders. On this quest we will learn about some of these animals and their homes.
The Task
As park rangers you will identify the lost African animals. After you know what the animals are you need to find out where they live so they can be transported safely back to their home habitat. Your report will consist of the following activities:
1. Complete the chart about the lost African animals.
2. Choose one animal and draw a picture of it within its habitat.
Resources
Use this space to point out places on the internet (or physical resources in the classroom) that will be available for the learners to use to accomplish the task. Embed the link within a description of each resource so that your learners know in advance what they're clicking on.
The Constructivist Project Design Guide maintained by Columbia University's Institute for Learning Technologies is a treasure trove of ideas for teachers. (This is just an example sentence with an link embedded within it.)
The Process
Choose a partner to work with . Pick up a data sheet to record your information.Task 1-
1. Identify each animal.
2. Next, find out where each animal lives.
3.Then determine the kind of food the animal eats.
4. What special needs must be looked at for moving the animal?
Task 2- Choose one of the animals you learned about. Draw a picture of that animal in its habitat.
Evaluation
At the end of this quest you will be evaluated on how well you completed the data sheet for task one and the details included in the picture of the animal in its habitat.
Conclusion
Good work rangers at the end of this webquest you will have learned about 5 African animals and their homes. You will be more familiar with the computer and the resources available on the internet.
