This webquest is designed to supplement the guided reading book Wild Weather, Tornadoes! Wild Weather, Tornadoes is a scholastic HELLO READER Level 4 (Grades 2 & 3).
Read Wild Weather Tornadoes with a guided reading group.
Discuss the requirements and directions.
Make sure computer and printer are accessible by students.
Supply materials for advertisement as needed (poster board, paper, markers, etc.).
Extension Activities
Language Arts -- Create a play about tornadoes. Write a journal depicting the day-by-day activities during a storm chasing tour. Produce a TV/Radio news broadcast about a tornado striking your hometown.
Science --Create a model of a tornado. Invite a meteorologist to speak to the class. Create a path of destruction model.
Social Studies--Research the history of tornadoes. Map tornadoes by region/climate.
