Let's Make a Bar Graph!

Step 1: Log into the Excel program (under the MS Office file)

Step 2: Under column A, enter your data for the following Pizza Hut info:

A1: calories per serving in cheese pizza

A2: calories per serving in sausage pizza

A3: calories per serving in pepperoni pizza

A4: calories per serving in vege pizza

Step 3: Under column B, enter your data for the following Rocky Rococo's info:

B1: calories per serving in cheese pizza

B2: calories per serving in sausage pizza

B3: calories per serving in pepperoni pizza

B4: calories per serving in vege pizza

Step 4: Go to "Insert" and choose "Chart." (Make sure the tab says "standard types" and that the "column" chart is highlighted. You want the first sub-type. This should also be already highlighted.) Then hit "Next."

Step 5: Click on the "series" tab. Type in a name for Series 1 (such as Pizza Hut). Click on Series 2 to highlight it, and type in a name (such as Rocky's).

Step 6: Click in the "Category (X) axis labels and type in short (no more than 4 letters) names for each column, with a comma between each (such as: ch, saus, pep, vege) Then hit "Next."

Step 7: Type in a title for your graph. Type in a name for the X (bottom) axis (such as Pizza Types). Type in a name for the Y (side) axis (such as # calories). Then hit "Next."

Step 8: Hit "Finish." Your graph should appear on your excel data table. You may enlarge it, change the background (double click in the background of the chart), or change the colors of the bars (double click on a bar). Be creative!
