Hurricanes and tornadoes are deadly forces of nature. They cause massive damage and destruction every year. When people are alerted and prepared for these storms damage and injury can be kept to a minimum.

 

A major storm (hurricane or tornado) has just hit your hometown! Your task will be to form a news team and report to your community the breaking news concerning this storm.  

Students will form small groups of four and use the resources given to research either tornadoes or hurricanes. They will have to gather information on one of these topics and use it to write a newscast. Each person in the group will have to roll play one of the following newscast members: News Anchor, Meteorologist, Reporter, Safety Specialist. To find out the details of your job, click below.
