The recognition is giving to programs that demonstrate overall excellence in providing students instruction consistent with Wisconsin State Technology Education Standards and many other factors.

Part of the reason for Oconto Falls Technology Education program winning the award is diversity of courses in the four basic areas of communications, manufacturing, construction, and transportation. What sets Oconto Falls apart from many other schools is the variety of classes offered. In addition to traditional classes introducing students to each program, they offer classes such as Photography that includes digital manipulation of images, Computer Aided Machining where products are made and sold, and Motorcycle Fundamentals, Service and Repair where students learn and practice skills on new Harley Davidson motorcycles. It is the constant striving to give students better instruction that makes Oconto Falls Technology Education department an award winner.
