Self-Reflection

What worked well in the unit?

The actual presentation I made did not work at all.   It might of had something to do with the gadget we saved it on or I may have had the wrong Kid Pix program disc.  Mrs. Rudersdorf tried to work with it and could not get it to work.

Suggestions for improvement

Not sure if this would have made a difference or not but if I used the computer lab, here at the elementary school, with the program that is already loaded, maybe it would have worked.

What materials/technology will be needed if this unit or lesson is repeated?

Loading in the correct Kid Pix program disc.  Not sure if that was the issue but worth playing around with.

How well were the standards met?

The standards were still met.  I went through my template and presented the skills just using the program itself.
I presented and demonstrated, then had the students follow through on the same task.

What impact did the technology integration have on this unit?

Students from kindergarten on up use Kid Pix for many subject areas, not only math and reading, social studies and science also.  I have used Kid Pix  for a seasons unit.   I know Mrs. Rudersdorf has her students do an "All About Me"  slide show.

In order for these projects to be successful as students get older, a basic knowledge of Kid Pix is important.

Comments about the process

Enjoyed putting it together.  It was just a let down not to be able to use it.
